What you'll learn
- How to create a class and invite learners
- How to assign a quiz with a due date and time limit
- How to read results and spot the hardest questions
- How learners join and complete assignments
Classrooms let you turn your quizzes into homework, class tests or revision tasks — and see exactly how each learner did. Creating classes needs a Pro account. Learners can join for free on any plan.
Part 1: Create your class
- Open Classrooms in the sidebar.
Press the button to create a new class.
- Give it a name.
For example "Grade 10 Maths — 10B". You can add a short description too.
- Share the join code.
Each class gets its own 8-character join code. Write it on the board, or send it in your class group. If the code gets shared where it shouldn't, you can make a new one at any time.
Part 2: Assign a quiz
- Create the quiz first.
Use Create Quiz as usual, and check the questions before you assign it.
- Open your class and add an assignment.
Choose one of your quizzes from the list.
- Choose the settings.
Add instructions, a due date and an optional time limit (1 to 240 minutes). Decide whether learners may retake it and whether they see the correct answers after submitting.
- Save.
The assignment appears straight away for every learner in the class.
Part 3: See the results
- Open the assignment's results.
You'll see how many learners have submitted and the class average.
- Check each learner.
See every learner's score, when they handed in, whether it was late, whether the timer ran out and how long they took.
- Find the hardest questions.
Each question shows the percentage of the class who got it right. Low numbers show you exactly what to re-teach.
For learners: join a class
- Sign up or log in.
A free account is all you need.
- Open Classrooms and choose Join a class.
Type the join code your teacher gave you.
- Complete your assignments.
Open the class to see what's due. If there's a time limit, the timer starts when you press start, and your answers are handed in automatically when time runs out.
Managing your class
- Remove a learner from the class, or learners can leave on their own.
- Archive a class at the end of the term to keep its results without cluttering your list.
- If your Pro plan ends, your classes become read-only: you can still see results, but you can't add new assignments until you upgrade again.
